🥢 Our Story

The idea for Crazy Korean fermented in the back of KJ and Durbanite Natasha’s minds, like a good batch of kimchi. When it was finally ready to burst with flavour, they brought it to life in 2017. Their goal was simple: to share the bold, Seoulful tastes of Korea through the fun, social energy of street food.

It all began at local markets with their now-famous sticky chicken. Crispy, saucy, and impossible to eat just once, it quickly became a crowd favourite. From those humble beginnings grew a vibrant brand built on authenticity, adventure, and connection. Every bite tells a story, and every meal feels like a trip to Seoul. Each dish is made to be shared, savoured, and remembered; a taste of Korea served with heart and a dash of crazy.

KJ Lee arrived in South Africa in 2005, brought along by his Durban-born wife Natasha and their two sons after the family had lived in Korea for several years. Together, they dreamed of introducing Korean food and culture to South Africans. In 2017 that dream came to life with the launch of Crazy Korean — a celebration of flavour, culture, and connection.
